Beer Can Chicken and Corn on the Cob

Roast chicken, fresh corn on the cob, and beer.  Can it get any better.  One thing I love about our neighborhood is there is a mom and pop vegetable market just down the street.  I walked in and saw the fresh corn with the husks still on, I bought it all.  Then the girls and I detasselled the corn, rubbed it in butter salt and pepper.  Rolled the husk back up, and started the Weber kettle grill.

We took a chicken, rubbed it in oil, garlic, sage, thyme, salt, pepper, and sprinkled it in rosemary.  Then I drank half a beer, and filled up the rest of the can with garlic, leeks and ginger.  Awhile back I had bought beer can chicken grilling stands broke them out and set the chicken down on the beer can.

Placed them hem in the Weber indirect heat and smoked with a chunk or two of hickory wood.  The smell was amazing.  The girls and I listened to good music, danced, told stories until it was all ready.

Was good enough to forget to take pictures of it done.  If you haven’t tried the beer can chicken, it is very moist juicy and you won’t regret cooking up one.
