Cast Iron Cornbread at the Firepit

My cornbread gets alot of compliments. It is a perfect addition to holiday meals. It is a little sweet with a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg. But what it is really famous for is all the real corn that is inside.

These are the ingredients. Pretty easy. Just follow the instructions on the box. For 2 boxes of mix, use 2 eggs, and 2/3 cup milk. Add a little cinnamon and nutmeg. A dash of Honey. 1 can cream corn. 1 can strained whole kernel corn. Whisk away.

Grease your deep skillet with ample butter. And pour in your mix.

Add coals to the top and cook. Check and rotate about halfway though the cook.

I pull my coals away from the bottom twards the end, and let the coals on top make sure that top has a nice hard crust. Top with butter and your golden.

I have had no complaints.
