Tri Tips, Rib Eyes, Beef short Ribs, and Veggies on the Charbroiler

The past week the weather has been bad and we got hit by Typhoon Maria. Today, the wifey came by my job for lunch, and let me know how nice a day it is, and that I should fire up the pit when I got home.

So my firepit is still semi mobile. I am still figuring out the best configuration before I make it more permanent. But this is what I usually use.

So I stopped by the market on the way home and got some veggies, corn, tri tip, beef short ribs, and a couple of rib eyes.

So the cast iron deep skillet is always my go to for cooking mixed veggies over the fire. Sakura didn’t make it home yet from school, so my usual corn wrapping helper was MIA LoL. Reina was still working on her homework, so I just threw the corn on the grill, a little salt and pepper ground on. And basted with melted butter.

The beef I set out to get to room temp, ground on a little salt, pepper and garlic. When my coals burned down, I put on some hickory lump charcoal, let that catch. Listened to some good tunes and the wife and I talked about our days with some cold beers, as the girls took their showers.

Every one home, and ready for bed. Time to pull everything off the pit.

There is a great Japanese yakiniku sauce that I love with my beef, so I put a little on, and topped with some roasted sesame seeds, and some freeze dried Chives. I would have use fresh, if the typhoon hadn’t of knocked it all down.

Again this was a hit. And we are all fat and happy.

I apologize for not really sharing recipes. But I kind of just throw stuff together, based on my mood, what was at the market on my way home, what we have in the fridge or freezer, and how much beer I have had. Thank you for stopping by. I hope these pictures have given you ideas. And I would love to hear from you.
